Dumpster Rental Cost: What's Included and What Adds Up
A dumpster rental cost is the base price plus anything over the included weight and days. With Reid Bros, every base price covers delivery, pickup, 7 days and 2 to 5 tons by size; extra tons are $75 each and extra days $25. Call (940) 251-7472 for the exact all-in price for your size and address.

How much does a dumpster rental cost on average?
The national median listed price was $350 for a 10-yard, $380 for a 15-yard, $449 for a 20-yard and $555 for a 30-yard dumpster in fall 2026. Those medians mix different inclusions. Our base price per size is quoted by phone so it can reflect the current season.
Ask any company three questions before you compare: how many tons are included, how many days, and what each extra ton costs. Those three answers predict your final bill better than the sticker price.
| Size | National median listed price |
|---|---|
| 10-yard | $350 |
| 15-yard | $380 |
| 20-yard | $449 |
| 30-yard | $555 |

What fees can be added to a dumpster rental?
Seven charges can be added to a base rental: weight over the included tons ($75/ton), extra days ($25/day), swaps (a new rental), a dry-run trip ($125), same-day rush ($50), special items ($50 each) and a street permit when one is needed. Here is each one and when it applies.
| Charge | When it applies | Reid Bros amount |
|---|---|---|
| Base rental | Every rental: delivery, pickup, 7 days and the included tons for that size | By phone, per size |
| Weight overage | Net weight on the landfill scale ticket is over the included tons | $75 per ton, by the pound |
| Extra day | You keep the dumpster past day 7 | $25 per day |
| Swap (dump and return) | We pull a full dumpster and drop an empty one | A new standard rental |
| Dry run or trip fee | The truck can't drop or pick up: parked cars, low wires, a locked gate, or an overfilled load | $125 |
| Rush delivery | Same-day delivery, when a truck is open | $50 |
| Special items | Each tire, mattress, or appliance with Freon (fridge, freezer, AC) | $50 each |
| Street permit | Only if the dumpster sits in a street or right-of-way that requires one | Set by the city |
What does a final dumpster bill look like?
A final bill is the base rental plus any overage, extra days and item fees. Example: a 20-yard kept 9 days with 3.4 tons net and one mattress adds $50 for 2 days, $30 for 0.4 tons over and $50 for the mattress, so $130 on top of the base price.
The invoice arrives by email 3 to 5 business days after pickup, once the landfill processes its disposal logs. The certified scale ticket is attached, so you can match the tons to the charge. How weight is billed walks through a ticket.

Why does dumpster rental cost more in some towns?
Three things set the local price: the landfill's per-ton disposal rate, the drive from our Denton yard to your address, and the debris type. A job 70 miles out takes more truck time than one across town, and heavy debris is priced differently from household junk.
That's why we quote by phone with your address. We serve towns about 80 miles from Denton; see service areas for each county.
Ways to keep the bill down
- Choose the size by weight as well as space; the size guide shows both.
- Keep concrete and dirt in their own load; clean loads can qualify for clean-fill pricing.
- Cover the load before rain. Wet debris weighs more on the scale.
- Move cars and unlock gates before delivery and pickup to avoid the $125 trip fee.
- Book by 3 PM for next-day delivery to skip the $50 rush fee.
FAQ
Dumpster cost questions
How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Denton?
Call (940) 251-7472 for our current base price per size. Every Reid Bros rental includes delivery, pickup, 7 days and 2 to 5 tons by size; extra weight is $75 per ton. Nationally, the median listed price for a 20-yard was $449 in fall 2026.
Why do dumpster prices vary so much between companies?
Prices differ in what they include. One company's low price may include 1 ton and 3 days; another's includes 3 tons and 7 days. Compare the included tons, days and the overage rate per ton.
Are there fees after the dumpster is picked up?
The final invoice can add overage weight, extra days and special items. It's emailed 3 to 5 business days after pickup, with the landfill scale ticket attached so you can check the weight.
Is a bigger dumpster always more expensive?
The base price rises with size, but a bigger dumpster includes more tons. A 30-yard includes 4 tons against 3 in a 20-yard, so a heavy job can cost less in the bigger size than in a 20-yard plus overage.
How can I lower my dumpster rental cost?
Pick the right size the first time, keep heavy debris separate, load before rain or cover the bin, clear the drop spot to avoid a $125 trip fee, and schedule pickup as soon as you're done.
