Do I need a permit to put a dumpster on a Dallas street?
Dallas issues a Barricade Permit for storing materials, supplies or debris on public property or in a public way, and a Traffic Control Permit when work blocks a lane, sidewalk or alley. A dumpster on your own driveway avoids both. Barricade permits start with a $40 application fee and a $200 minimum.
The Barricade Permit also requires a City indemnification agreement and $500,000 of liability insurance. Traffic Control Permits are filed through the city's ROW Management System. Dallas Barricade Permit · Dallas right-of-way management

Why can't Dallas bulk trash pickup take my remodel debris?
City of Dallas brush and bulky pickup runs monthly, with a 10 cubic yard limit and one 20 cubic yard exception a year. Construction debris is banned from bulk pickup and contractors must remove their own. Over-limit or banned piles cost $60 per 5 cubic yards, and piles may not go in alleys.
